Sony Hikes PlayStation 5 Prices Across Several Regions Amid Economic Pressures – TBC News

Sony has raised the prices of select PlayStation 5 consoles in multiple regions, excluding the United States, due to global economic challenges.
The PS5 digital edition will see over a 10% price increase in Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
In Europe, the PS5 digital edition now costs €499.99 ($570), while in the UK it is priced at £429.99 ($566).
The standard PS5 with a Blu-ray drive will also become more expensive in Australia and New Zealand.
Sony confirmed price adjustments in the Middle East and Africa as well, though specific figures were not disclosed.
The price of the standalone PS5 disk drive will decrease, the company noted.
Sony said the changes take effect immediately and do not impact the high-end PS5 Pro, released in November 2023.
The PS5 Pro features upgraded performance for faster gameplay and enhanced graphics since its debut three years after the original model.
