Meralco Joins BFP for Fire Safety Awareness
Meralco has strengthened its commitment to public safety by joining the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in its fire safety and awareness campaign during Fire Prevention Month.
The BFP has organized various initiatives to prevent and mitigate fire hazards while educating the public on proactive safety measures.
During a visit to San Lazaro Fire Station in Manila, Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga reaffirmed the company’s support for the BFP’s fire prevention efforts and highlighted Meralco’s initiatives to enhance emergency response in its service areas.
Meralco operates the Meralco Rescue Fire Sub-station at its headquarters, serving as a fire emergency response center, firefighter training facility, and direct link between the BFP and Meralco’s system control for rapid power shutdowns in fire-affected areas.
The BFP emphasized the importance of fire safety practices, particularly during the dry season when fire incidents tend to increase, underscoring its readiness to respond to emergencies.
