Businesses in the Philippines are being urged to stop rolling the dice on new hires as fraud risks and identity scams plague recruitment processes.

Fraud costs organizations an estimated 5% of their annual revenue globally, with Asia-Pacific suffering the highest average loss per case at $1.2 million, according to the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Traditional resumes and interviews no longer cut it as companies grapple with fake credentials, identity fraud, and the pressure to hire fast without thinking twice.

CIBI Information Inc. is pitching its Workforce Solutions to help employers actually figure out who they’re hiring, offering tools for identity checks, background screening, and ongoing security monitoring.

CIBI says annual security checks can catch fraudsters before and during employment, saving companies from preventable disasters.

The firm argues that data-driven hiring can help employers balance speed with integrity, build fraud-resistant teams, and avoid costly mistakes.

CIBI, the Philippines’ only local credit bureau, claims its services offer clarity and peace of mind in today’s chaotic hiring landscape.
