PH-based ISP showcases network performance to Ookla execs

Converge ICT Solutions Inc., a leading fiber broadband provider in the Philippines, recently had the privilege of hosting Ookla President and CEO, Stephen Bye, at their headquarters.
This visit, which took place on April 4, 2024, was a significant moment for Converge as they showcased their superior and multi-awarded network to the global CEO of network intelligence and connectivity insight firm, Ookla®.
During the visit, Stephen Bye was warmly welcomed by Converge’s top executive team, including co-founders Dennis and Grace Uy. The occasion provided an opportunity for Converge to highlight their consecutive wins in Ookla®’s latest Speedtest Awards™, demonstrating their prowess in categories such as *Fastest Internet Service Provider in the Philippines, *Best Internet Gaming Experience, *Best Internet Video Experience, and *Top-Rated Internet in the Philippines.
One of the key highlights of the visit was the discussion around Converge’s recent technological advancements, particularly the deployment of AI technology in their network operations.
The Network Intelligence Automation Platform (NIAP) technology has significantly enhanced network metrics and operational efficiency, earning regional recognition from the Asian Telecom Awards for AI Initiative of the Year and Technology Innovation of the Year in the Philippines.
Converge operates the largest fiber-to-the-home network in the Philippines, boasting over 7.9 million ports as of end-2023. Their network is equipped with 10GPON technology, with a focus on XGS-PON, a symmetric version that offers equal upload and download speeds.
This strategic choice aligns with the increasing demand for high-speed connectivity driven by applications like the Metaverse, AR, and VR.
In a move to empower its customers, Converge recently launched the ‘Boost Mode’ campaign, offering a free speed boost for its FiberX1500 plan, providing speeds of up to 300 Mbps until June 30, 2024. This initiative reflects Converge’s commitment to delivering affordable and high-speed internet connectivity to its customers.
Apart from technological advancements, Converge places a strong emphasis on customer service excellence. Chief Commercial Officer Benjamin Azada highlighted the improvements in customer service metrics, including higher answer call rates and quicker average handle times. The integration of AI-powered tools is set to further enhance the customer care experience for Converge subscribers.
