Berde Renewables Powers Big E Food Corporation with New Solar Rooftop Installation
Berde Renewables has partnered with Big E Food Corporation, the maker of the popular Lemon Square snacks, to install a 2.6 MWp rooftop solar energy system at its production facility in Meycauayan, Bulacan.
This solar installation is projected to generate over 3,681.77 MWh of energy annually.
The initiative aims to significantly reduce BEFC’s electricity costs while cutting approximately 2,500 tons of CO2 emissions each year.
Patrick Zhu, CEO of Berde Renewables, emphasized that this collaboration is part of a broader strategy to facilitate the energy transition in the Philippines.
“This partnership with Big E Food Corporation showcases our commitment to accelerating renewable energy adoption,” Zhu stated.
EJ Vergel De Dios, BEFC’s Head of Corporate Strategy and Planning, highlighted the project as a pivotal step toward operational sustainability.
“For decades, Lemon Square has represented quality and innovation,” he noted, asserting that the shift to solar energy aligns with these core values.
The installation reflects BEFC’s dedication to both environmental responsibility and consumer trust.
As more companies embrace renewable energy solutions, the question remains: are these initiatives genuine steps toward sustainability or merely strategic marketing moves?
The future of corporate responsibility hinges on transparency in such partnerships.
