Malaysia Aviation Group Orders 30 Boeing 737 MAX Jets to Modernize Fleet

Malaysia Aviation Group has ordered 18 Boeing 737-8 and 12 Boeing 737-10 jets to upgrade Malaysia Airlines’ fleet with more fuel-efficient aircraft.
The order, finalized in January 2025, was previously listed as unidentified on Boeing’s orders and deliveries website.
The new aircraft will help Malaysia Airlines introduce lie-flat seats and expand capacity to meet rising travel demand across Southeast Asia, one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets.
The 737-8 offers versatility, while the larger 737-10 provides increased capacity, supporting the region’s projected 250% fleet growth over the next two decades.
Malaysia Airlines has operated nearly every 737 variant since 1969, and this latest order continues that legacy with more than 50 737s already in its fleet.
The new jets are expected to cut fuel consumption and emissions by 20%, offering operational efficiency and enhanced passenger experience.
Boeing maintains a strong presence in Malaysia, with its Boeing Composites Malaysia facility contributing parts for all Boeing commercial aircraft, including the 737 MAX.
