Garmin Smartwatches Support Groundbreaking Space Research on Fram2 Mission – TBC News

Garmin announced that its fēnix® smartwatches are supporting scientific research during the Fram2 human spaceflight mission.
The all-civilian crew will study the effects of spaceflight on the mind and body, using Garmin smartwatches to monitor biometrics such as heart rate, Pulse Ox, and Body Battery™.
The smartwatches are “space-ready,” tested to withstand space travel’s harsh conditions, and offer exceptional battery life for continuous monitoring without the need for recharging.
The Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH) at Baylor College of Medicine is leading the research to prepare for future space exploration. Data collected will help address medical and mental health challenges for astronauts during space missions.
Fram2 marks the first mission in polar orbit to use Garmin technology, and it is the second private spaceflight leveraging Garmin’s smartwatch for scientific research.
Garmin Health provides digital health solutions, enabling seamless integration of real-time smartwatch data into third-party apps for corporate wellness, patient monitoring, and more.
