Ant International’s AI Plan Promises to Save Fintech From Itself With Bots, Buzzwords, and a “Cockpit”

Ant International has launched the Alipay+ GenAI Cockpit, an AI-as-a-Service platform designed to help fintech firms deploy AI-native financial services.
The platform offers automation across key areas such as payments, onboarding, compliance, fraud detection, and dispute resolution.
It will first roll out to fintech clients in Southeast Asia and South Asia starting June 2025.
The AI strategy hinges on three pillars: AI security, vertical fintech expertise, and full-stack platform support.
Ant’s AI SHIELD framework claims to reduce fraud losses to just 5% of the industry average using over 100 models and 600,000 risk keywords.
The platform integrates more than 20 large language models, with fintech-specific data and rules for high-accuracy task performance.
It includes tools like Antom Copilot to help merchants integrate payment methods, correct code, and automate document processes.
Businesses can also create customized AI agents for tasks like tax refunds or cross-border remittances via a marketplace-supported model context protocol.
Cockpit supports flexible deployment through partnerships with Google Cloud and other providers, targeting end-to-end AI transformation in finance.
