Trump Launches Wireless Service: Finally, a Way to Pay for Patriotism Monthly

The Trump Organization has entered the wireless market with a $47.45-per-month mobile plan and a $499 Trump-branded T1 smartphone.
The Trump Mobile plan includes unlimited talk, text and data with no long-term contract, plus extras like roadside assistance, telehealth services and free calls to 100 countries.
Subscribers can use their own device or preorder the T1 phone, which features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, Android 15, and a shiny gold finish that’s sure to impress absolutely no one.
The T1 phone, hyped as designed and built in the U.S., is expected to ship in September, though the Trump Organization offered no details on where its components are actually sourced.
The $47.45 plan price awkwardly references Trump’s 45th and current 47th presidencies, because branding subtlety has clearly left the building.
The service will piggyback on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon networks, essentially making Trump Mobile yet another Mobile Virtual Network Operator.

Trump Mobile’s launch comes days after the SmartLess podcast unveiled a similarly puzzling wireless service, because apparently telecom is the new celebrity tequila.
Despite the inevitable media circus, industry experts expect the venture to barely make a dent in the $300 billion U.S. wireless market.
The Trump family, minus the former president, fronted the launch at Trump Tower, with Eric and Donald Trump Jr. doing the honors.
Analysts suggest Trump Mobile may carve out a niche among loyalists but won’t threaten the big carriers or shake up the market in any meaningful way.
