Snitch on ICE, Save the Day: AG Bondi Accidentally Launches ICEBlock to App Store Glory

A controversial app for anonymously reporting sightings of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents has skyrocketed to the top of Apple’s U.S. App Store, thanks to unintended promotion by Attorney General Pam Bondi.

ICEBlock, which allows users to lawfully report ICE activity within a five-mile radius and receive alerts of nearby sightings, went viral overnight following Bondi’s public condemnation.

The app is now among the most downloaded free iPhone apps in the country as of Tuesday afternoon, with around 20,000 users concentrated in Los Angeles — a city recently plagued by ICE raids.

Despite the uproar, ICEBlock collects zero user data, a claim verified through independent testing of the app’s network traffic.

Apparently, nothing boosts downloads quite like a good old-fashioned government scolding.
