Think local fabrics are just for uniforms? At TELACon 2026, the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) proved they are much more. Telang Pinoy is now a tool for careers, culture, and climate solutions.
From January 27-29 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City, TELACon 2026, part of Philippine Tropical Fabrics (PTF) Month, brought together designers, researchers, innovators, and policymakers under the theme “Stitching Futures.” The goal is clear: make Philippine textiles globally competitive while creating real opportunities for local communities.
