PUMA has signed a multi-year deal to become the official outfitter of the UAAP Season 87 champion UP Men’s Basketball Team.
The agreement was sealed on June 14 at PUMA’s flagship store in SM North EDSA, marking yet another sports brand trying to buy its way into glory.
PUMA will now supply the UP Fighting Maroons with athletic gear that, according to the press release, will supposedly help them unleash their greatness.
The partnership is part of PUMA’s attempt to look relevant again in the local basketball scene.

UP’s players are now set to train in Serbia as if new uniforms are all they need to defend their UAAP title.
The deal conveniently lets PUMA brag about adding another team to its roster of “elite” athletes who wear its gear.
UAAP Season 88 kicks off this September, hosted by the University of Santo Tomas, with the Maroons presumably hoping their new kits do the scoring for them.
PUMA continues its mission to inject sportswear into street fashion, all while convincing the world that shoes and jerseys are the secret sauce to athletic greatness.
