Shocking Dangers Ahead: Meralco’s Safety Alert for Monsoon Season

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) placed its crews on high alert as southwest monsoon rains threaten parts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

The utility giant said it is coordinating with weather and disaster agencies to ensure quick response to power-related issues, especially in flood-prone areas.

Meralco urged customers to switch off their main power supply if floodwaters enter their homes and avoid handling electrical devices with wet hands.

Vice President Joe Zaldarriaga stressed that safety comes first, warning that electrical accidents remain a serious risk during heavy rains and possible flooding.
