FedEx turns massive balloon dreams into reality

If you thought moving a balloon across town was tricky, imagine shipping over 20,000 pounds of them across the globe. FedEx made it happen for the 26th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, bringing in hot air balloons and drones from Asia, Canada, Europe, Latin America, and the United States.
The three-day event, themed “A Weekend of Everything that Flies,” ran from February 13 to 15, 2026, at New Clark City in Tarlac. FedEx’s global network and specialized freight solutions ensured every oversized balloon and drone arrived on time and in perfect condition.
Maribeth Espinosa, managing director of FedEx Philippines, said the company’s expertise in complex, high-value cargo made the operation seamless, combining precise load planning, specialized handling, and skilled teams to move irregularly shaped shipments efficiently.
From the moment the cargo left its origin to its final setup at the festival, FedEx’s airside infrastructure and dedicated operations teams coordinated the entire process, allowing festival organizers and attendees to enjoy a flawless spectacle.
For visitors, this meant colorful balloons rising into the sky and drones buzzing overhead, all thanks to a global logistics effort that turned a logistical headache into an unforgettable show.
FedEx didn’t just deliver cargo—they delivered a weekend of imagination taking flight for thousands of spectators.
