How Disney+ is expanding its streaming offerings with live ESPN sports coverage

·

Disney+ subscribers in the Philippines can now stream live sports, studio shows, and original programming following the official launch of ESPN on Disney+.

Accessible directly through a dedicated ESPN navigation tab in the updated Disney+ app, the integration brings live coverage and on-demand content into a single destination at no extra cost to existing plans.

The expansion launches alongside a regional brand campaign, “Ito ang Homecourt Mo!,” targeting local audiences through dedicated sports content, studio commentary, and original series.

Production and broadcasts remain under ESPN’s editorial control, delivering live analysis alongside the platform’s general entertainment offerings.

“The Philippines is an incredibly important sports market in Asia Pacific, with a deep-rooted passion for basketball and combat sports and a fan base that brings tremendous energy to the region’s sports culture,” said Kylie Watson-Wheeler, Head of ESPN, Asia Pacific.

Postseason streaming covers early rounds through the Conference Semifinals and Conference Finals. The Western Conference Finals will stream live on Disney+, while the Eastern Conference Finals and the NBA Finals will be available on demand. Studio programming includes NBA Tip-Off, Inside the NBA, NBA Countdown, NBA Today, and NBA Action.

The sports integration joins existing entertainment properties, including upcoming Asian original series The Remarried Empress and Portraits of Delusion, alongside standard catalog content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Hulu.
