SEC-registered fintech firm Skyro has secured the Philippines Consumer Service Innovation of the Year – Financial Technology title at the Asian Innovation Excellence Awards 2026.
The recognition, presented on October 20 in Singapore, celebrates organizations across Asia that drive industry progress through measurable, high-impact solutions.
Skyro earned the award for Flexi, an in-app feature that allows Filipino borrowers to adjust their monthly repayment amounts or due dates with a few taps on their smartphones.
By automating the process, the self-service tool removes the need for paperwork, manual verification, customer support requests, or formal explanations when managing changing financial circumstances.
The service addresses real-world disruptions such as delayed salaries, reduced income, and medical emergencies. In one instance, a borrower used Flexi to extend his repayment terms after his child was born prematurely, enabling him to manage hospital expenses without taking on additional debt.
Key metrics highlighting the performance and reception of Skyro Flexi include:
- High adoption: Approximately 40% of Skyro’s total customer base has activated Flexi.
- Active utilization: 60% of users who activate the feature actively use it to adjust their loan terms.
- Positive sentiment: 87% of customer satisfaction surveys and app reviews referencing Flexi report positive feedback.
“When we developed Skyro Flexi, we wanted to challenge the idea that customers should always have to follow a fixed repayment schedule, even when their circumstances change,” said Dmitriy Vavulidi, Skyro Head of Product. “Behind these features is a lot of product and technology work. But for us, the real innovation is making that flexibility simple, accessible, and useful for customers.”
Company executives emphasize that user experience and flexibility remain central to their operational philosophy.
“At Skyro, we’ve always believed that financial services should adapt to people’s lives, not the other way around,” said Ira Franco, Skyro COO. “It’s not just about introducing new technology or features. It’s about understanding what our customers need and finding practical ways to make their financial experiences better.”
The award comes amid continued operational expansion for the digital-first fintech company. Skyro has issued over 3 million loans to date and maintains a mobile app user base exceeding 7 million registered accounts, along with a credit portfolio surpassing $200 million.
Skyro relies on proprietary data science, AI-driven credit decisioning, and alternative-data scoring to serve emerging markets. The company stated that flexible structures like Flexi help strengthen overall portfolio performance and drive sustainable growth alongside increasing access to credit.
