US President Donald Trump denied reports that Elon Musk would receive a classified briefing on US military strategies in a potential conflict with China.
The New York Times first reported Musk was set to learn about maritime tactics and targeting plans, sparking backlash over the billionaire’s growing influence in the White House despite holding no official role.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed Musk would visit the Pentagon on Friday but said the meeting would focus on innovation, not secret war plans.
Trump dismissed the reports as “completely untrue,” insisting China would not be discussed.
Musk also criticized the Times, calling it “pure propaganda” on his platform X, denying the meeting involved classified information.
