
If your favorite apps suddenly got faster tomorrow, you might have Tower Semiconductor and NVIDIA to thank. Tower Semiconductor (NASDAQ/TASE: TSEM) is rolling out high-performance silicon photonics for 1.6T data center optical modules, designed to supercharge NVIDIA networking protocols.
These chips can double data rates compared to previous silicon photonics solutions, meaning AI servers can move data faster and handle more complex tasks without choking.

NVIDIA is onboard too. Gilad Shainer, NVIDIA’s senior vice president of networking, said the partnership will advance AI infrastructure efficiency, making it easier to scale applications like machine learning, cloud AI, and high-speed analytics.
Tower’s SiPho platform is already attracting market leaders in AI infrastructure, data center networking, and advanced telecom, thanks to its ability to handle high-speed optical interconnects. The company operates multiple fabs across Israel, the U.S., Japan, Italy, and has access to Intel’s New Mexico facility to ensure global capacity.
