AirAsia rewards has updated its loyalty program with “Points Booking,” a new feature that sets aside dedicated seat allocations on eligible AirAsia flights for members booking at least 30 days prior to departure.

To mark the feature’s release, the Capital A loyalty branch is running a limited-time promotion offering members 50% points back on all eligible flight redemptions completed by September 30.

The new functionality covers both domestic and international routes across the carrier’s network. Redemptions cover the full flight cost, including the base fare, taxes, and secondary fees. Under the updated system, route examples include:

• Manila to Caticlan (Boracay): Available from 12,000 points (all-in fare, valued at ~PHP 1,845)
• Manila to Kaohsiung: Available from 20,000 points (all-in fare, valued at ~PHP 3,076)

With the current promotion, a member redeeming a Manila to Caticlan flight for 12,000 points will receive 6,000 points returned to their account after the campaign period concludes.

How to Access and Redeem Points Booking

The Points Booking system is accessible exclusively through the AirAsia MOVE mobile app. Members must hold a minimum balance of 500 AirAsia points to initiate a redemption.

Key details of the redemption process include:

• Flexible Payment: Members can cover the full fare with points or make partial point payments, using a credit card to pay any remaining cash balance.
• Point Transfers: Users can convert existing balances from partner credit cards or third-party loyalty programs into AirAsia points to fund redemptions.
• Double-Digit Campaigns: Members can further expand their point balances during monthly double-digit conversion campaigns, which offer up to a 100% bonus on eligible bank and credit card transfers, subject to campaign terms and participating partners.

To redeem flights through the AirAsia MOVE app:

1. Open the Points tab inside the AirAsia MOVE app.
2. Scroll to and select Fly on Points Booking deals.
3. Choose a destination and a travel date scheduled at least 30 days in advance.
4. Adjust the points slider to set the desired redemption amount, then tap Redeem.
