When basketball fans in Australia and Southeast Asia can expect new IM8 experiences

·

The National Basketball Association and health brand IM8 (US) LLC have joined forces in a multiyear agreement, naming IM8 the Official Nutrition Partner of the NBA across Australia and eight Southeast Asian markets.

The deal covers Australia alongside Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Co-founders David Beckham and Danny Yeung unveiled the partnership alongside NBA Asia executives and two-time NBA champion Chris Bosh during an exclusive event at Upper House in Hong Kong.

Under the multiyear agreement, IM8 will roll out NBA-themed marketing campaigns and interactive fan engagement programs across all nine target markets. The partnership will culminate in 2027, when IM8 hosts an interactive fan activation at NBA House, one of the league’s flagship regional events.

Key Details of the Regional Agreement

  • Target Markets: Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
  • Core Initiatives: Regional marketing campaigns, fan engagement events, and a dedicated IM8 activation at NBA House in 2027.
  • Brand Foundation: IM8 is owned by Prenetics Global Limited (NASDAQ: PRE) and backed by elite athlete ambassadors, including two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“A few years ago, IM8 was an idea David Beckham and I sketched out together, with one ambition: to build a global health brand backed by the credibility of the world’s greatest athletes,” said Yeung, CEO of Prenetics and Co-Founder of IM8. “Today, we’re standing alongside the NBA, the most iconic league on the planet and the most powerful sports brand in the region. Together, we’re bringing IM8 to approximately 660 million people across Australia and Southeast Asia, pairing large, basketball-loving communities with a growing demand for premium health and wellness, as IM8 continues to expand globally.”

The expansion aligns with the league’s objective to emphasize health and fitness across its international fanbase.

“Basketball has given me everything, and I’ve seen first-hand how this game brings people together in every corner of the world,” said Antetokounmpo. “I grew up in Athens dreaming about the NBA, so bringing IM8 to basketball fans across Australia and Southeast Asia means a lot to me. Taking care of your body allows you to show up and be your best every single day.”

“Our collaboration with IM8 reflects the NBA’s commitment to promoting the importance of a healthy lifestyle in the communities where we operate,” said NBA Head of Southeast Asia and Asia Marketing Sheila Rasu. “We look forward to working with IM8 to curate new experiences for NBA fans and IM8 consumers in Australia and across Southeast Asia.”

Updates regarding the partnership and details on the 2027 NBA House event will be made available through IM8’s official website and localized NBA social media accounts across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X.
