EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW – Galaxy Racer Country Manager Marcia Guillermo
Galaxy Racer is one of the largest content powerhouse of gaming and lifestyle in the world.
1. What is GXR’s current reach in other regions? How about expected reach in PH by end of year?
Galaxy Racer is present across the key markets in Southeast Asia, namely the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Laos.
Each market has its growth potential, and we’re happy to say that all our markets are high-performers. We have very ambitious goals for the year, and we’re confident that we will meet our goals.
Southeast Asia as a whole, comprises roughly 50% of our current global EXCLUSIVE reach. Galaxy Racer Southeast Asia has a total EXCLUSIVE reach of over 330 million, while the Philippines roughly shares 50% of this.
While considering our whole network around Southeast Asia, we’d be about 1 billion in reach, with 50% being with the Philippines. The Philippines is primed to be a stronghold in Southeast Asia as it is where we have begun in the region.
One of our most valued goals is to reach 500 million in total exclusive reach across Southeast Asia by the end of the year, with a minimum of 1.5B monthly views across the board. This is primarily why we’re gearing up our content capabilities to showcase to Southeast Asia the great team/s that we’ve built across the region.
2. What is GXR’s 2022 target figure for: partnered content creators, views, partnerships with private sector, collegiate scholarships provided.
We are proud to say that Galaxy Racer in the Philippines has some of the most engaging content creators in the country.
Together with Tyronne Escalante Artist Management (TEAM), we currently have 40+ in our roster with a total of 219M followers across all platforms, with close to 800M views per month across all channels we own.
And now that the esports and gaming industry is showing its relevance in contributing to the economy, we also want to educate future game-changers in this industry through collegiate scholarships.
We are partnering with Collegiate Center for Esports to provide educational scholarships and grassroots leagues and programs to students of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) schools.
3. How much will GXR be spending for marketing GXR Limited and GXR Records?
Both GXR Limited and GXR Records are our growth verticals which means we are open to spending any justifiable cost. We believe that at the very beginning when we launch and set them up, putting a cap on marketing spending will stagnate the opportunities that we may have along the way.
GXR Limited and GXR Records both pose huge growth potential, and our current investments have allowed us to:
For GXR Limited:
- Create potential partnerships and collaborative releases with Galaxy Racer’s internal ecosystem and initiatives, all under one GXR banner
- Build on a remarkable style and design team that befits particular cultural nuances of the territories we are at;
- Establish our logistics and distribution network across the territories in Southeast Asia where we are present.
For GXR Records:
- Create potential partnerships that will feature awaited collaborations across the region;
- Enable our current up-and-coming slate of artists to produce their original songs with the expertise of local producers we closely work with (Announcements to be made soon);
- Enhance our team’s capabilities by setting up a cross-functional and collaborative environment with a goal to promote all of these across the territories that we have.
4. What percentage of partner content creators in the PH would be female? Male?
We have a good mix of male and female content creators in the Philippines, with Spencer Serafica and Tukomi Twins being the most popular male content creators, and Kristine Santamena and Christine Samson being the most popular female content creators. We currently have 23 male creators and 17 female creators.
5. How big will GXR be investing for its first year in the PH?
While we can’t disclose the actual amount of investment yet in the PH, I can say that Galaxy Racer considers the PH as one of, if not the biggest key market, that shows significant growth across Southeast Asia. That said, we are putting investments in launching the business verticals that would lead into growing the footprint of Galaxy Racer in the Philippines.
6. Any developments in the pipeline for PH?
Apart from the ongoing partnerships and tie-ups that we have, we are also proud to be the content partner for SIBOL, the Philippine National Esports Team representing our country at the upcoming SEA Games happening this May.
In the Philippines, we are also partnering with the Collegiate Center for Esports that would solidify Galaxy Racer’s plans in expanding to collegiate esports by producing grassroots leagues and programs that would support and develop student-athletes, and provide scholarship opportunities through esports.
Lastly, after its huge success in Dubai last March, we are looking into bringing GAMERS GALAXY to the Philippines which we see as one of our biggest esports products (IPs) yet.
