The Rise of SHERA: A Beacon of Sustainable Manufacturing in the Region

Thai fiber cement manufacturer SHERA is set to transform the Philippines’ construction landscape through cutting-edge Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
This innovative approach guarantees rapid and eco-friendly production of fiber cement boards while significantly reducing import dependency.
Recently, SHERA received Green Lane Certification for its soon-to-open plant in Mabalacat, Pampanga, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices.
As the sole producer of fiber cement materials in the Philippines, SHERA will deploy IoT and AI across its pulping and curing processes.
The facility will also harness solar power and utilize recycled materials, drastically cutting carbon emissions.
Recognizing SHERA’s strategic importance, the Department of Trade and Industry awarded it a green lane certificate during recent ASEAN Summits.
Both President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and DTI Secretary Cristina Roque commended SHERA’s efficient use of green technology.
CEO Ongon Taechamhaphant stated that SHERA’s innovations ensure high-quality materials for Filipino consumers while protecting the environment.
With an annual production target of 300,000 tons, the Mabalacat facility will commence operations in March 2025, meeting local demand and enabling exports to North Asia and Oceania.
