Feeding Hope: How foodpanda is Tackling Involuntary Hunger in the Philippines

Foodpanda Philippines has made headlines by donating over 1,000 meals as part of its World Food Day initiative.
This effort underscores its commitment to fighting hunger and reducing food waste through its sustainability program, “Let’s Do Our Pau-rt” (LDOP).
World Food Day, celebrated annually on October 16, is a global campaign led by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
In the Philippines, the hunger crisis is alarming, with around 3.95 million families facing involuntary hunger.
In response, Foodpanda organized various meal donation activities throughout October to amplify its impact.
A company representative stated, “We want to create a bigger impact by working with our stakeholders to combat hunger and food waste in our country.”
Employees were encouraged to donate meals via the ShareTheMeal feature on the Foodpanda app, which benefits local communities.
This initiative has raised over 300 meals from employees alone this month.
In partnership with Scholars of Sustenance Philippines, Foodpanda prepared and distributed 500 meals in Marikina City.
Additionally, a month-long feeding program in General Santos City aims to provide meals to over 1,000 elementary students.
Foodpanda’s initiatives reflect a robust commitment to addressing hunger while promoting a circular food economy.
