Huawei Unveils World’s First Tri-Fold Smartphone at MWC 2025

Huawei has introduced the Mate XT, the world’s first commercial tri-fold smartphone, at Mobile World Congress (MWC 2025) in Barcelona, Spain, which began on March 3.
The Mate XT features an advanced hinge and screen system, allowing it to fold both inward and outward. It also boasts a 10-size adjustable physical aperture camera.
Attendees experienced the device’s capabilities firsthand at Huawei’s Consumer BG booth, which featured a large naked-eye 3D display showcasing the tri-fold phone’s design and technology.
Huawei also highlighted its latest smart wearables, including the TruSense System, an upgraded health and fitness monitoring platform.
Visitors tested real-time heart rate monitoring with the Huawei WATCH GT 5 and explored the WATCH D2, which offers ambulatory blood pressure tracking.
For creative users, Huawei unveiled the MatePad Pro 13.2-inch 2025 with a PaperMatte OLED display, designed to deliver a paper-like drawing experience.
Paired with the third-generation Huawei M-Pencil featuring 10,000-level pressure sensitivity, the tablet is optimized for GoPaint software, which powered a live digital art exhibition at the event.
Huawei continues to expand its product lineup globally, with the Mate XT and MatePad Pro 13.2-inch 2025 now available in select markets.
