No Show, No Dough! Senate Bosses To Strip Bato’s Cash As He Hides From ICC Cops

MANILA — The Senate ethics committee has formally requested Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa to provide his position on a proposed “no work, no pay” policy for the chamber.
Senator JV Ejercito confirmed Monday that the panel is currently reviewing a potential amendment to Senate rules regarding member absenteeism.
The ethics committee moved forward with the inquiry by seeking dela Rosa’s input because the proposed changes directly relate to an active complaint filed against him.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III previously indicated he would seek a formal explanation from the senator to determine if the chamber should proceed with the disciplinary grievance.
Dela Rosa has been the subject of an ethics complaint following his continuous absence from legislative duties since November 2025.
The senator reportedly ceased attending sessions after news surfaced regarding an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court.
