MIAS 2025: Driven by Connections for 20 Years

Twenty years ago, WORLDBEX Services International (WSI) held its first Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), showcasing the very best of the Philippine automotive industry.
Today, MIAS continues to set high expectations for car enthusiasts who enjoy high-powered and innovative cars and connect with like-minded people who love living in the fast lane.

The automotive industry has changed in 20 years, with the Philippines contributing to the industry through its vehicle assembly and manufacturing of vehicle components for other big car companies and manufacturers.
Some of the most innovative car manufacturers hail from the East Asian continent and have introduced many innovations and improvements for their vehicles, with Japan leading the race.
57.75% of automotive patent applications come from Japan, while South Korea takes second place with only 16.61%, and Germany goes third with
12.28%. These countries, along with the rest of the world, have pushed their boundaries to show just how innovative the automotive industry can achieve.
The Philippine automotive industry has proven its willingness to evolve and adapt to the changes within the global industry thanks to the growing demand for AI-assisted self-driving cars that will help automate the driving experience for Filipino drivers.
The Manila International Auto Show will be at the forefront of showcasing the future of the industry and bringing more eyes toward the future of innovation in 2025.

MIAS started from a humble beginning in 2005 when motoring writers Jason K. Ang, Ulysses K. Ang, and Alvin Uy approached the founding chairman of WSI, Mr. Joseph Ang, to discuss their intention to create an international-grade, industry-based auto show that would highlight the local industry’s passion and drive for innovation in the automotive sector.
Jason Ang, now one of the co-organizers of MIAS, said, “We (the writers) took inspiration from attending international auto shows, and we aimed as co-organizers to bring an equivalent world-class experience for the Philippine auto buyers and enthusiasts.”
Mr. Joseph Ang saw the opportunity and leveraged his experience and expertise to organize highly successful events, leading to the first-ever Manila Motor Show in April 2005. He envisioned the event as a tribute to his late father, who was a car dealer deeply involved in the automotive industry before his passing.
Ever since its inception, MIAS has garnered widespread recognition from various international brands, becoming the annual go-to event for car manufacturers to launch their newest models.

MIAS has also gained strong support from key motoring organizations, including the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), Tuason Racing School (TRS), and the Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI).
This year’s MIAS promises to be the biggest automotive event in the country, celebrating this remarkable milestone.
Car brands such as Aion, BAIC, BYD, Changan, Chery, Foton, GAC, Great Wall Motors, Hyundai, Isuzu, Jetour, Jaecoo, KIA, Lynk & Co., MG, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Omoda, Seres, Suzuki, Vinfast, and Volvo will showcase their latest models and innovations.

Visitors can expect over 90 exhibitors and more than 200 car displays featured throughout the event. Major sponsors include BPI Auto Loans, Petron, and Shell.
