Corporate Guilt Trip? Top Brands Now Selling Ice Cream, Sunglasses, and Skin Cream to Fund Public Schools

HOPE, the Philippines’ first certified B Corp, has launched Generation HOPE, a new initiative with the Department of Education and major Filipino brands to build classrooms nationwide.
The program includes collaborations with BDO, Carmen’s Best, Grab, Penshoppe, Aivee Clinic, SM Supermalls, and Sunnies, turning everyday purchases into classroom donations.
BDO will roll out a co-branded credit card where a portion of spending, points, and membership fees goes to school construction.
Carmen’s Best is releasing special edition ice cream, while Grab users can donate via GrabRewards.
Aivee Clinic will sell limited-edition items and Skin Bank cards, while Penshoppe will offer HOPE-themed apparel and accessories.
SM Supermalls will contribute proceeds from water bottle sales, and Sunnies will sell a clean lens kit and a branded flask as part of the campaign.
HOPE claims each purchase directly funds classrooms in areas identified by the Department of Education as high-need.
Generation HOPE taps into consumer spending to address a persistent classroom shortage, blurring the lines between charity and commerce.
