Sinulog 2026 turns into a major showcase for Palawan Group in Cebu

The Palawan Group of Companies marked its 21st year of service in Cebu by joining Sinulog 2026 as an official festival sponsor, reinforcing its long-standing ties with the Cebuano community and its role in supporting faith, culture, and everyday financial needs.
During the week-long celebration, Palawan Group maintained a strong on-ground presence through festival activations, promotions, and participation in major Sinulog events, including the grand parade, Sinulog Idol 2026, the festival queen coronation night, and the GMA Caravan. A branded float featuring the Pikoy mascot rolled through Cebu’s main streets, drawing crowds and highlighting the company’s visibility during one of the country’s largest religious festivals.
Company executives said Cebu remains a critical growth market in the Visayas, serving as a gateway to southern Philippines operations and reflecting deep customer trust in Palawan Group’s pawnshop, remittance, jewelry, and digital services. Through Sinulog, the company positioned its services as accessible options for families, workers, and micro-entrepreneurs balancing celebration with daily financial responsibilities.
A key highlight was Palawan Pawnshop Night held at Plaza Independencia on January 12, where festivalgoers gathered in devotion to the Santo Niño while enjoying live performances by Bisaya Squad. Interactive activities, prizes, and giveaways were used to engage attendees and strengthen brand connection with local communities.
Palawan Group’s Cebu footprint includes 295 branches and a workforce of more than 1,500 Cebuano employees, serving an estimated 25,000 remittance clients daily and over 300,000 pawnshop customers. During Sinulog, services were extended through hubs at Fuente Osmeña and Plaza Independencia, showcasing offerings such as Palawan Express Pera Padala, PalawanPay digital transactions, and ProtekTODO microinsurance.
The company also rolled out exclusive Sinulog promotions, including free interest on select pawn transactions, discounted rematado items, reduced accident insurance rates, and digital vouchers for PalawanPay users in Cebu City.
Beyond Sinulog, Palawan Group continues to participate in major regional festivals such as Dinagyang and Ati-Atihan, underscoring its strategy of combining community engagement with accessible financial services across the Philippines.
