Honda and Tamang Ride PH teach kids to ride safe with helmets and hands-on lessons

Kids as young as seven are learning that road safety isn’t just for adults. Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI) teamed up with Tamang Ride PH to launch the first “Kids on Safety” program of 2026 at Tanza Elementary School in Navotas City on January 31.
The two-weekend program taught children aged 7 to 10 practical road safety skills through realistic scenarios while making learning simple and engaging. HFI also donated 100 helmets to reinforce the importance of wearing them and following proper safety habits from an early age.
The curriculum is based on Tamang Ride PH’s children-focused module, which draws from Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC) programs. Older students benefit from elements of HSDC’s “Teen Smart” module for ages 16 to 18, giving a clear roadmap for safe behavior on the road as they grow.
This initiative ties into Honda’s broader goal: achieving zero collision fatalities involving any Honda vehicle by 2050, and cutting fatalities in half by 2030. Beyond helmets and lessons, Honda integrates safety tech like Honda SENSING and other motorcycle safety features to make roads safer for everyone.
Tamang Ride PH has made road safety its nationwide mission, starting with children and new drivers, and HFI has been a “Road Safety Ambassador” since 2025. Through these efforts, Honda and Tamang Ride PH are shaping a generation that is more mindful, cautious, and prepared to protect themselves and others.
With a little guidance, a helmet, and hands-on training, even kids can become champions of safer streets.
