LG UltraGear evo: Revolutionizing 5K Gaming

Imagine gaming at jaw-dropping 5K resolution without buying a new graphics card. LG Electronics just made that possible with its new UltraGear evo monitors, debuting at CES 2026, featuring the world’s first 5K AI Upscaling technology.
The lineup spans OLED, MiniLED, and ultrawide formats with three flagship models: the 39GX950B, 27GM950B, and 52G930B, each designed to deliver stunning clarity, faster response times, and immersive visuals for any type of gamer.
The 39-inch GX9 OLED monitor upsizes your content to 5K in real time using LG’s on-device AI, improving both image and audio quality with AI Scene Optimization and AI Sound. Dual Mode lets players toggle between 165Hz at full 5K2K or 330Hz at WFHD, while the 0.03ms response time ensures smooth competitive play.
For those worried about bright halo effects, the 27-inch GM9 MiniLED model tackles blooming with 2,304 local dimming zones and Zero Optical Distance engineering, offering crisp highlights and deep blacks. Like the GX9, it uses AI for real-time 5K upscaling and supports Dual Mode 165Hz at 5K or 330Hz at QHD with 1ms response time. VESA DisplayHDR 1000 and 1,250-nit brightness make explosions and fire in games practically leap off the screen.
Gamers craving extreme scale can go for the 52-inch G9, the world’s largest 5K2K monitor, with a 240Hz refresh rate and 12:9 panoramic view that is 33 percent wider than standard UHD monitors. Its 1000R curvature wraps visuals around your vision while VESA DisplayHDR 600 ensures deep contrast and vivid colors.
Lee Choong-hwoan, head of LG’s Display Business, said the UltraGear evo ends compromises in gaming displays, letting players choose between perfect blacks, extreme brightness, or immersive scale without losing performance.
UltraGear evo will be showcased at CES 2026 with experiences inspired by Reddit gaming setups and SimCraft racing simulations. LG will also launch the UltraGear GX7 (27GX790B), a 27-inch QHD OLED monitor with up to 720Hz Dual Mode refresh rates, meeting the high-speed demands of competitive gamers.
Whether you chase visual fidelity or lightning-fast responsiveness, LG’s UltraGear evo makes 5K gaming practical today.
