Becks goes all in on football’s wild new future

Lenovo has announced a global partnership with former football star and businessman David Beckham as part of the company’s expanding push into the international football space.
The collaboration strengthens Lenovo’s presence in the sport following its role as Official Technology Partner of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027.
Under the agreement, Beckham will take part in Lenovo’s initiatives involving AI-powered sports solutions aimed at improving team performance, enhancing fan engagement, streamlining operations and opening new revenue opportunities across football.
Lenovo said the partnership is designed to highlight how AI-driven technology can support not only athletes and organizations but also professionals, small business owners and large enterprises seeking to improve productivity and performance.
The company added that Beckham’s experience as both a global sports figure and entrepreneur aligns with its broader message that smarter technology can help people and organizations perform at a higher level.
Beckham is also set to appear in Lenovo’s upcoming global marketing campaign, which is scheduled to launch in May ahead of the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a statement, Beckham said he was proud to work with Lenovo as the company deepens its involvement in football on the global stage.
He said advances in AI and data are helping reshape how players and coaches prepare for matches while also changing how supporters experience and connect with the sport.
Beckham added that he is interested in Lenovo’s work in expanding ideas and access within football through technology.
Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang said Beckham’s influence across football, business and culture makes him a strong fit for the company’s efforts to showcase how AI can improve daily life and workplace efficiency.
