Big discount, bigger question: why is Huawei already slashing Mate 80 Pro price?

Planning beach trips, night outs, or last-minute getaways this summer? Your phone might be the one thing that keeps up or slows you down, and Huawei is betting its latest flagship will do the former.
The HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro is now priced at PHP 69,999, but a limited-time offer cuts it to PHP 64,999, bundled with a HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 2 worth PHP 1,999 and a premium care service worth PHP 9,999. The promo runs from April 24 to May 31, 2026, with an extra PHP 5,000 discount for select bank card users in stores.
What you’re really paying for is a device built around moments people actually care about. The Mate 80 Pro packs a 50MP Ultra Lighting Main Camera, a 48MP telephoto macro lens with up to 4x optical zoom, and a 40MP ultra-wide camera, designed to capture everything from low-light dinners to wide group shots without extra gear.
Battery anxiety also gets a direct hit. A 5750mAh battery promises up to 30 hours of video playback, while 100W wired charging pushes the phone to 51% in just 15 minutes. That matters if you’re constantly moving and don’t have time to stay plugged in.
Durability is another selling point. With IP68 and IP69 ratings, the device can survive up to 6 meters underwater, handle high-pressure water jets, and endure temperatures from 80ºC down to -20ºC. It is also protected by 2nd Generation Kunlun Glass for better drop resistance.
Performance-wise, the phone runs on 16GB RAM with a 21% boost over its predecessor, plus a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling. It also integrates AI tools like Google Gemini, ChatGPT, and DeepSeek for everyday tasks.
Daily essentials are covered too, with apps like TikTok, Facebook, Spotify, GCash, and Grab available via HUAWEI AppGallery.
There’s even a limited-edition photo card of Jericho Rosales for buyers from April 24 to April 30.
At its core, this isn’t just another phone launch. It’s a push to make sure your device doesn’t miss the moments you actually live for.
