Unveiling TCL’s Intensive HVAC Training Program for Future Technicians

TCL expanded its partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority through the second batch of its technical training program aimed at preparing future heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration professionals in the Philippines.
The 2026 training program on domestic refrigeration and air-conditioning installation introduced a longer and more intensive curriculum to provide participants with a more comprehensive learning experience.
TCL said the updated program shifted from the lecture-based format used in the inaugural batch to a hybrid approach combining advanced technical instruction with extensive hands-on application.
The company said the revised structure was designed to equip trainees with practical competencies and industry readiness needed in the evolving HVAC sector.
TCL said the initiative reflected its continued commitment to developing Filipino technical talent and strengthening the local workforce through industry-standard training and real-world experience.
Joseph Cernitchez, brand manager of TCL, said the second installment of the program aimed to provide aspiring technicians with practical skills and tools needed to compete in the industry while helping develop future professionals in the HVAC field.
The initiative also reinforced the partnership between TCL and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority by creating employment pathways intended to connect technical training directly with career opportunities.
TESDA officials who attended the program included HVAC trainer Enrico V. Relevo, senior TESD specialist and HVAC trainer Kriz S. Bernardino, registrar Jean Maurice R. Constantino, industry coordinator Rita Mae P. Jordan-Gamboa and center administrator Eugene P. Agcaoili.
Representatives from TCL included Deputy Marketing Director Shae Yu Xiaoling, Assistant Product Manager for Air Conditioners Vincent Tobias and brand manager Joseph Cernitchez, alongside B2B partner Pika Lee of Firstar.
Agcaoili said the partnership between TCL and the TESDA Regional Training Center-National Capital Region demonstrated how public-private collaborations could support skills development and improve the competitiveness of the Filipino workforce.
The second batch of the training program gathered 25 trainees at the TCL-TESDA Center inside the TESDA RTC-NCR facility for a three-day course divided into lectures and practical training sessions.
Participants underwent technical discussions and hands-on exercises covering installation, repair and maintenance of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
The training sessions also featured guidance from TCL product and service teams, who shared technical expertise and operational insights with trainees.
Students in the air-conditioning training program gained direct experience working on TCL split-type air-conditioning units during practical exercises.
TCL also linked aspiring technicians and prospective dealers with its internal teams and authorized dealers as part of its enrollment-to-employment initiative.
The program included specialized instruction on TCL technologies and product specifications, including practical training on the TCL Home App and voice command features designed for smart household systems.
Firstar, led by Pika Lee, joined the training sessions and announced a learner profiling initiative that culminated on the final day of the program.
The final day featured a formal evaluation and mini job fair intended to identify high-potential trainees and provide opportunities for long-term employment.
The training concluded with a certificate awarding ceremony recognizing the participants’ completion of the program and validating their proficiency in TCL technologies.
TCL said the certification program was intended to help graduates secure opportunities at authorized service centers across the country.
Cernitchez said the company plans to continue supporting the professional development of Filipino technicians through future training initiatives focused on technical excellence.
