Filipinos Join Global Fight to End Pet Homelessness

Mars Philippines is stepping up its efforts to end pet homelessness through its #TwoLivesChanged campaign, marking the second Global Adoption Weekend in the country in partnership with the Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF).
The initiative was celebrated at AKF’s 10th Anniversary Run Fur Life event, which drew more than 1,000 participants and their dogs to promote pet adoption and raise funds for animal shelters.
Held across more than 20 countries, the Mars Global Adoption Weekend highlights how adopting a pet transforms both animal and human lives.
In the Philippines, Mars continues its three-decade collaboration with local organizations, veterinarians, and communities to promote responsible pet ownership and provide care for shelter animals.
Mars Petcare Philippines Sales Director Deng Osite said the company will donate over 30,000 daily pet meals to shelters this October.
Shoppers can contribute to the cause by purchasing PEDIGREE and WHISKAS products on Shopee, Lazada, or TikTok.
Together with AKF, Mars also launched WeR4HappyTails.com, a digital platform connecting potential pet owners with adoptable cats and dogs.
AKF Program Director Atty. Heidi Marquez-Caguioa said the platform promotes lasting, responsible adoptions that embody the campaign’s message: every adoption changes two lives for the better.
