That mysterious breakup message you probably scrolled past or saw on the road was not about a relationship at all. It was a calculated move that just helped Dermorepubliq win Gold at the 2026 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.
The viral campaign, “The breakup that went viral by Dermorepubliq,” stood out as the only winner in the Innovation in the “Use of Viral Media or Word of Mouth” category. Instead of pushing ads the usual way, the brand dropped a cryptic billboard: “‘Wag na tayo mag break please. Love, D.” People speculated, shared, and talked. That curiosity turned into attention, and attention turned into business.
Behind the scenes, Uniquecorn Strategies engineered the rollout in two phases. First came the tease, which triggered 42 earned stories and over 60 million influencer video views. Then came the reveal, connecting “breakup” to “breakouts,” adding another 43 earned media stories.
The result was hard to ignore. The campaign generated 200 million in combined online reach, 100 million total video views, and 93 earned media stories. It also delivered an estimated USD 4.5 million in PR value. For a brand that started online, that is a serious leap into mainstream visibility.
CEO Keith Sta. Barbara said the goal was simple: make science-based skincare feel real before people even recognized the brand. And it worked. Dermorepubliq is now expanding beyond digital platforms like TikTok Shop, Shopee, and Lazada into physical retail through Watsons stores across Metro Manila.
What makes this win even bigger is the competition. Dermorepubliq went head-to-head with giants like SM Supermalls, Ayala Corporation, and San Miguel Corporation and still came out on top.
In a crowded skincare market, this proves one thing. If a brand can get people talking, it can turn curiosity into cash and clicks into real-world shelf space.
