Cloud giant Amazon Web Services highlighted how artificial intelligence is moving from experiments to enterprise tools in the Philippines during its 2026 outlook and re:Invent 2025 recap briefing.
The message is clear. Businesses that use AI see faster growth and productivity. According to AWS data from its study Unlocking the Philippines’ AI Potential, AI adoption among Philippine businesses has expanded, with a significant share reporting revenue growth and productivity gains in 2024. The numbers show AI is no longer optional for companies that want to compete.
Union Bank of the Philippines is using Amazon Quick Sight and Amazon Q Developer to let 200 plus business users query data in natural language. AWS said this helped cut data request turnaround times by 3 to 5 times and reduced operating costs by about 30 percent. The bank now allows nontechnical staff to generate insights and dashboards on their own.
Digital finance players are also scaling on AWS. Maya reported fraud losses reduced by up to 98 percent, average revenue per user rising by 45 percent, and up to 95 percent of customer inquiries resolved instantly using AI systems built on AWS. Processing millions of daily transactions, GCash relies on AWS to automate operations and scale securely. Smart and Globe are modernizing cloud infrastructure and deploying AI tools to improve network resiliency and customer experience.
Government services are moving online as well. The Department of Social Welfare and Development integrated live chat, voice support, and an AI powered system to improve response times, especially during peak seasons like December.
AWS also introduced new AI agent tools including the AWS DevOps Agent, AWS Security Agent, Kiro Autonomous Agent, and Amazon Nova models such as Nova Lite, Pro, Sonic, and Omni. These tools aim to automate coding, security checks, and operations while running on infrastructure built for large scale workloads.
The shift signals one thing. AI agents are becoming part of everyday business systems, reshaping work, costs, and competition across industries.
AI is now infrastructure, not just innovation.
