Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday urged Shanghai Cooperation Organization members to ramp up artificial intelligence collaboration while rejecting a “Cold War mentality,” signaling Beijing’s bid to position itself as a global peacemaker.

The summit in Tianjin, China’s largest-ever SCO gathering, included leaders such as Vladimir Putin and Narendra Modi. Analysts say China’s détente with India could expand Beijing’s influence and access to critical technology.

Xi highlighted $84 billion in investments across SCO nations and vocational education pledges, underscoring efforts to boost economic ties, strategic cooperation, and multipolar global diplomacy.
