How Go-Catane’s 30 Years in Tech Will Shape Equinix’s Next Phase of Growth in the Philippines

·

Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the world’s digital infrastructure company, recently announced the appointment of Ireen Go-Catane as Managing Director, Philippines, effective 9 November 2026.

Based in Manila, Ireen will oversee Equinix’s business in the Philippines, drive market growth, and support customers’ digital transformation.

Ireen’s appointment comes as the Philippines strengthens its position as one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic digital markets, supported by a large, digitally engaged population and growing demand for interconnected cloud and AI services. With its strategic location and links to international markets, the country is well positioned to play an increasingly critical role as a digital gateway connecting Southeast Asia with global cloud, network and AI ecosystems.

Ireen brings more than 30 years of experience in the information and communications technology industry. She joins Equinix from Schneider Electric Philippines, where she served as Country President and led initiatives that accelerated business growth and strengthened the company’s commitment to sustainability and inclusion. Ireen has also held senior leadership positions at multinational technology companies, including NTT Philippines, Microsoft, Voyager Innovations, Samsung, IBM, Dell and Hewlett-Packard, spanning business management, channel and go-to-market leadership.

“Ireen is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in business transformation and the Philippine market,” said Max Parry, Vice President, Growth and Emerging Markets, Asia-Pacific, Equinix. “I am confident she will help our customers capture new opportunities in cloud and AI, leading Equinix’s next phase of growth and contributing to the continued advancement of the Philippines’ digital economy.”

“I am thrilled to join Equinix and grow our presence in the Philippines,” said Ireen Go-Catane, Managing Director, Philippines, Equinix. “As customers navigate increasingly complex technology and business requirements in the age of cloud and AI, Equinix is well positioned to provide the infrastructure, interconnection, and ecosystem access they need to scale with confidence. I look forward to working with our team to strengthen Equinix’s market position and contribute meaningfully to the Philippines’ growing digital economy.”

Ireen’s leadership has earned several industry distinctions, including being named a Circle of Excellence awardee for Woman Leader of the Year at the 2026 Asia CEO Awards. She also received the Philippines Leadership Commitment Award at the 2024 Women’s Empowerment Principles Awards and was named first runner-up for the same award at the Asia-Pacific level. She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Jack Welch Management Institute and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, majoring in Computer Technology, from De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines.

Since entering the Philippines in 2025, Equinix has established a growing presence through three data centers in Manila. The facilities provide more than 1,000 cabinets of capacity and host leading network service providers and four of Manila’s main internet exchanges. Together with Equinix’s presence in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, the Philippines forms a critical node in an interconnected Southeast Asian network, enabling businesses to grow across markets with extensive global connectivity and access.
