PUMA Mostro Shakes Up PH Sneaker Scene with Y2K-Inspired Design

PUMA is shaking up the Philippine footwear scene with the launch of the Mostro, a bold sneaker featuring a Y2K-inspired design.

Set to debut on March 29, the shoe will be available at PUMA stores in Bonifacio High Street and Shangri-La Plaza.

Originally introduced in 1999, the Mostro blended sprinting spikes from the ’60s with the surfing shoes of the ’80s to create a disruptive sneaker.

It gained traction in 2004 with a refined design and has recently resurged in popularity, thanks to collaborations with high-fashion brand Ottolinger and endorsements from celebrities like A$AP Rocky and Filipino actor Enchong Dee.

The latest release, the Ur Mostro Communication in Warm White/Light Straw, enhances the sneaker’s signature look with improved comfort.

It features a slip-on build with an elastic velcro closure, a flexible rubber outsole with spikes for grip, and built-in vents for breathability, making it ideal for urban wear.

With its mix of retro aesthetics and futuristic elements, the Mostro continues to make waves in fashion circles. The Ur Mostro Communication will retail for PHP 7,300 and be available on PUMA.com and select stores nationwide.
