Dead Broke and Six Feet Under: Singlife’s New Funeral Insurance Saves You from the Final Shame

·

Singlife Philippines has launched Protect from Funeral Costs, a whole life insurance product offering up to ₱500,000 in lump-sum death benefits to help cover end-of-life expenses.

The product is available exclusively through the Singlife Plan & Protect App, enabling users to purchase coverage anytime via mobile.

Premiums start at ₱447 per month with payment terms of five or ten years, and coverage lasts until age 120.

Filipinos can choose their benefit amount—from ₱100,000 to ₱500,000—and extend protection to a spouse or child without needing separate policies.

The policy includes tools like a financial needs calculator based on preferred funeral arrangements and guest count.

Benefits also include annual coverage boosts*, premium waivers for disability, cash value accumulation, and loan access after the fourth policy year.

Upon death, 10% of the benefit is immediately released for urgent funeral costs, with the remainder following claim approval.

With funeral costs in the Philippines often topping ₱200,000, Singlife’s solution targets families unprepared for financial shocks during grief.

*Non-guaranteed dividends subject to market performance.

The plan is part of Singlife’s mission to make financial protection accessible in a country where insurance penetration remains below 2%.
