PSBank 65th Anniversary

Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank) is marking 66 years of operations by pushing forward with fee-free digital transfers and rapid credit decisions, targeting multi-generational Filipino families through both physical branch expansion and online services.

First incorporated in June 1959, the thrift bank opened its flagship branch in Plaza Miranda, Quiapo, in 1960. Today, PSBank operates a nationwide footprint of 250 branches and over 500 ATMs, paired with a full suite of digital banking capabilities.

To improve accessibility, the bank has eliminated transaction fees for InstaPay money transfers via its mobile platform. It has also removed entry barriers for new depositors by allowing online account opening on PSBank Mobile using a single valid government ID, with no minimum deposit or maintaining balance required.

On the lending side, the institution has streamlined its underwriting process to deliver faster turnaround times for major retail borrowing:

  • Auto Loans: Credit decisions are delivered within 24 hours.
  • Home Loans: Approval notifications are processed within one business day.

“Being a partner through generations means evolving with our customers as their lives, needs, and aspirations change. We want to make banking more accessible, convenient, and responsive, while staying true to what PSBank has always stood for: being Simple at Maaasahan. Because what we do today can help create possibilities for tomorrow—and for the generations that follow,” PSBank President Jose Vicente Alde said.

The institution’s long-term retention strategy relies heavily on localized branch relationships alongside digital enhancements. Clients like Emmylou O., who opened her first account over 28 years ago at a branch in Putatan, Muntinlupa, transitioned from basic savings to financing major milestones through PSBank’s auto and home loan products. She recently advised her newlywed daughter to establish her own accounts with the bank.

While upgrading security controls and transaction management tools within the PSBank Mobile app, the bank continues to maintain round-the-clock live support through its 24/7 Customer Experience team to preserve direct client interactions.
