Huawei has expanded its device portfolio in the Philippines with the official launch of the HUAWEI MatePad Air.
Combining an ultra-thin form factor with built-in artificial intelligence productivity tools and a PC-like accessory ecosystem, the new tablet is now available online and in physical stores across the country.
The device features a 12-inch 2.8K OLED PaperMatte Display bounded by a 4.69mm bezel. Built to reach a peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits, the screen uses Huawei’s anti-glare PaperMatte technology to lower reflections, minimize eye strain, and offer a tactile surface for drawing, reading, and writing.
Integrated AI and Productivity Features
Designed around a 4-in-1 productivity system, the MatePad Air combines hardware and software updates to streamline everyday workflows:
- PC-Level WPS Office with WPS AI: Generates presentation decks, refines writing, and summarizes long documents.
- HUAWEI Notes: Converts spoken audio into structured, editable text via speech-to-text, links handwritten annotations directly to audio transcriptions, and breaks down complex mathematical equations.
- GoPaint Application: Offers dedicated digital art tools and AI-enhanced features designed for sketch artists and professional illustrators.
- NearLink Accessories: Supports the HUAWEI Smart Magnetic Keyboard with low-latency typing and desktop shortcuts, alongside the HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro. The stylus features gesture controls (pinch, double-tap, rotation) and an Air Mouse mode that doubles as a slide navigator and laser pointer.
Portable Architecture and Power Specs
The tablet measures 5.3mm in thickness and weighs 509 grams. Wrapped in an Airy Blue pearlescent finish built to resist sweat and surface fading, the chassis houses a 3D heat dissipation architecture to sustain performance under sustained workloads.
Under the hood, the MatePad Air packs a 10,100mAh battery rated for up to 18 hours of HDR video playback, paired with 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge Turbo technology capable of refueling the device in 30 minutes. Memory configuration consists of 12GB of physical RAM, 256GB of internal storage, and 8GB of virtual storage.
