What foodpanda Philippines is doing to tackle hunger through local community partnerships

·

In observance of World Food Month, foodpanda Philippines is highlighting its community initiatives under “Let’s Do Our PAU-rt.”

Through partnerships with National and Local Government, NGOs, Academe, and local enterprises, the initiative aims to promote food accessibility, strengthen food security, and support community development.

The initiative brought together partners across key areas in the country such as Metro Manila, Tuguegarao, and Cebu to support vulnerable communities through food assistance, livelihood opportunities, and food rescue efforts. These activities align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2: Zero Hunger and 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

Through its Donor for the Day activities with Walang Gutom Kitchen in Pasay and Cebu, foodpanda extended support to individuals in street situations. The company also partnered with Taguig Kakanin Cooperative, Simbayanan ni Maria Multi-purpose Cooperative, and the Department of Trade and Industry – National Capital Region (DTI NCR) through pandamarket to support local cooperatives and merchants.

Other initiatives included kitchen volunteering with Scholars of Sustenance Philippines and the Quezon City Social Services Development Department bringing ready-to-eat meals to foodpanda delivery partners and child development centers in Quezon City, and food voucher assistance for persons deprived of liberty at BJMP Makati City Jail. foodpanda also supported the Hapag-Pag-Asa Program of the University of St. Louis in Tuguegarao City.

“At foodpanda, we believe that making life delicious goes beyond delivering food—it also means helping make food more accessible to communities that need it most. Through ‘Let’s Do Our PAU-rt,’ we are proud to work alongside our partners to support vulnerable communities, strengthen local livelihoods, and contribute to efforts that address food insecurity. These initiatives reflect our commitment to creating meaningful impact beyond World Food Month and reaffirm the importance of collaboration in building more resilient communities,” said Leopoldo De Castro Jr., Finance Director at foodpanda Philippines.

Through “Let’s Do Our PAU-rt,” foodpanda brings its Making Life Delicious commitment beyond food delivery, working with partners to help address community needs through food assistance, livelihood initiatives, and collaborative efforts to improve food accessibility.
