Acer has captured 37% of the consumer laptop market and 34.5% of the gaming laptop segment in the Philippines during the first five months of 2026, extending its market leadership to 20 consecutive years.
Data from market research firm Nielsen-GfK confirms the company’s sustained position at the top of the local personal computing sector through May 2026. The performance builds on data from the IDC Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker, which validated Acer as the country’s top-ranked laptop brand every year from 2006 through 2025.
The milestone comes as the hardware maker marks its 50th anniversary globally, following a record-setting 2025 in which the brand captured an all-time high 37.3% total share in the Philippine consumer laptop market across its gaming and non-gaming portfolios.
“These achievements are deeply meaningful to us as we celebrate Acer’s 50th anniversary,” said Sue Ong-Lim, Managing Director of Acer Philippines. “They reflect our strong commitment to our mission of breaking barriers between people and technology, one that has guided our innovations for five decades.”
The company attributes its sustained leadership to an expanded operational strategy that integrates retail distribution, service infrastructure, and youth-focused brand engagements alongside hardware sales.
Key pillars driving the brand’s local ecosystem include:
- Acer Day: Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the annual community-focused event engages consumers through interactive lifestyle experiences and tech showcases.
- Asia Pacific Predator League: Now in its eighth year, the regional esports tournament functions as a competitive platform for emerging gaming talent.
- Acer Edu Summit: A regional forum bringing together educators, policymakers, and tech leaders to advance artificial intelligence and human-centered innovation in classrooms.
Founded in 1976, Acer is utilizing its 50th anniversary to reinforce its focus on product reliability, accessibility, and technology integration across consumer, gaming, and educational sectors.
