Just months after 50 unemployed and underemployed Filipinos graduated from the AWS re/Start program — sponsored by Chevron Philippines and delivered with Edukasyon.ph — a majority have already crossed the finish line into real tech careers.

The free, cohort-based program prepares participants for entry-level cloud roles, covering cloud fundamentals, storage, networking, security, databases, and programming. Graduates receive job placement support and connections to employers both local and international, turning training into tangible opportunity.

Within three months of graduation, 62% — that’s 31 scholars — have landed jobs. Of these, 80.64% are working in Philippine-based organizations, while 19.36% are in remote roles for overseas companies.

Their employers range from global giants like Samsung Research Philippines and Fujitsu Singapore to growing firms such as CarParts.com and Kyndryl Philippines, plus public sector agencies like the Department of Information and Communications Technology.

The positions are just as diverse. Graduates have stepped into software development, systems and network infrastructure, data analysis, cloud support, quality assurance, testing, training, and facilitation. Others have taken on responsibilities in business and program management.

For Maria Adelide dela Cruz, a career shifter, the program turned a distant dream into a reachable path. She says it guided her into the right field and gave her pride in finally being “on track.”

Chevron Philippines sees the success as proof of what targeted training can achieve. Senior Corporate Advisor Atty. Raissa Bautista says the company is proud to help graduates thrive in respected organizations and build promising futures.

The company continues to invest in education, livelihood, sustainability, and environmental programs — framing these as part of its long-term mission to uplift communities and foster lasting progress through collaboration.
