For years, Filipino VALORANT players have been dueling it out through Hong Kong servers, sometimes battling opponents and the occasional unstable ping at the same time. That changes on August 20, when Riot Games flips the switch on its first-ever Manila-based server.

Launching at exactly 5:00 a.m. with Patch 11.04, the “MNL” server promises faster response times, smoother matches, and fewer moments where your crosshair meets lag instead of the enemy. It’s not here to replace Hong Kong — think of it as a new arena. Players can hop between Manila and Hong Kong servers freely, keeping their tournament eligibility intact, including the road to the Challengers Southeast Asia league.

This server isn’t just another data center humming in a warehouse. For Riot, it’s a love letter to the community that’s kept the game thriving since 2020. The move comes hot on the heels of VALORANT’s fifth anniversary celebrations, which saw Taguig’s tenement walls turned into a massive mural of iconic Pinoy plays, a “Humans of VALORANT” docuseries, and fan-led tributes that turned in-game moments into cultural milestones.

Brand Manager Jason Roberto says it’s all about giving players what they deserve: hyperlocal matches, better stability, and a sense that the game’s heartbeat matches their own.

And because Riot knows that a server launch isn’t really a launch without some bragging rights, community tournaments will be rolling out nationwide. Expect more details — and probably some highlight clips — on VALORANT PH’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

In a few days, Manila joins the map alongside Hong Kong and Singapore in Southeast Asia’s VALORANT network. For the local player base, it’s not just about lower ping. It’s about finally having a home court.
