rcbc euromoney award

Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) has extended its record-breaking run in Asian finance, claiming Euromoney’s Best Bank for Digital award for the seventh consecutive year.

The victory marks the longest winning streak of its kind for any Philippine financial institution and makes RCBC the first bank across Asia to achieve seven straight wins in this category.

Euromoney’s latest Awards for Excellence highlights a fundamental shift in the global banking industry. As basic digital adoption becomes standard, competitive advantage is no longer driven by being the first to launch a new app feature. Instead, global judges honored RCBC for building a connected ecosystem designed to solve everyday financial challenges for customers across all stages of life.

“Technology should never become the destination. It is simply the bridge. The real measure of innovation is whether it helps people build better financial lives and achieve greater financial security,” said RCBC President and CEO Reggie Cariaso.

RCBC’s winning approach relies on three core digital platforms that address distinct financial needs across the Philippine economy:

  • RCBC ATM Go: Delivers essential banking services directly to rural and geographically isolated areas by turning neighborhood merchants into local transaction hubs. By eliminating the need for residents to travel long distances to reach traditional brick-and-mortar branches, the network currently spans all 82 Philippine provinces.
  • RCBC DiskarTech: Simplifies access to formal financial systems through strategic public-sector integrations. In partnership with the Social Security System (SSS), the MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech combines official government identification, savings capabilities, digital payments, and core banking services into a single tool for millions of workers.
  • RCBC Pulz: Connects globally mobile Filipinos and digital professionals to foreign commercial markets. The platform introduced the country’s first U.S. Virtual Account for customers lacking a U.S. residential address, allowing local freelancers working with international clients to receive payments directly into the domestic banking network.

The recognition arrives as the Philippines cements its position as one of Asia’s fastest-growing digital finance hubs. While early industry efforts focused primarily on customer onboarding, market demands have evolved toward enabling deeper participation in the digital economy through credit access, investment options, cross-border payments, and wealth creation tools.

“When we began our digital transformation years ago, we weren’t simply building better banking applications,” said RCBC Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer Lito Villanueva. “We were building a banking ecosystem that grows with people’s ambitions. As economies become more connected, our responsibility as a bank is to help Filipinos participate confidently, not only within the Philippines, but anywhere opportunities exist.”

Recognized as the Best Bank for Digital and Best Bank for Customer Experience, RCBC continues to drive innovation through customer-focused, technology-driven solutions. The bank is a proud member of the Yuchengco Group of Companies (YGC), one of Southeast Asia’s most established conglomerates.  To learn more, visit www.rcbc.com.
