Biggest amount of garbage is expected by SM at annual coastal cleanup haul | Buzz Capital – Your Daily News Portal

·

On September 16, 2023, at SM By the BAY and other SM Malls across the nation, SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility division of SM Supermalls, and SM Prime Holdings, Inc., are preparing to collect the largest haul of trash and marine debris.

The increased involvement of SM—15 SM malls in 12 sites across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao—will make it possible for more volunteers and staff to participate in the cleanup effort and protect the marine environment and its resources for the communities it serves.

SM has been committed to supporting International Coastal Cleanup Day every September since 2015, as well as organizing many cleanup drives throughout the year.

Last June, a cleanup to commemorate World Environment Day and World Oceans Day created 29,272 kg of rubbish across 5 SM malls across the country.

Furthermore, SM By the BAY, SM Mall of Asia, and SM Offices hold cleanup drives at the MOA Complex twice a month.

The coastal cleanup drive is one of the many projects mounted by SM Cares and leading real estate developer, SM Prime Holdings Inc., to support the marine environment and ocean conservation efforts of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030).

Volunteers may participate in designated clean-up sites through the following malls and sign up via: https://bit.ly/SMCaresICC2023
