What small businesses need to know about Zyxel’s affordable new WiFi 7 access points

·

Small businesses, home offices, and professional users can now upgrade to ultrafast WiFi 7 without overhauling their budgets or IT resources.

Zyxel Networks has launched the NWA50BE MAX and NWA90BE MAX, two tri-band, triple-radio access points engineered to deliver high-speed connectivity, energy efficiency, and simple cloud management for cost-sensitive environments.

Older wireless setups frequently suffer from congestion when customer hardware, point-of-sale terminals, and IoT equipment compete for bandwidth—resulting in delayed checkout processes, failed mobile payments, and lagging security feeds.

The new access points address these bottlenecks by delivering aggregate speeds of up to 9.3Gbps across simultaneous 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz radios.

By shifting bandwidth-intensive devices to the 6GHz band, networks can maintain smooth traffic flow while keeping legacy equipment operating efficiently on the lower frequencies.

Both models incorporate key hardware and management features tailored for growing enterprises:

  • Smart Mesh MLO: Combines mesh technology with Multi-Link Operation across all three bands, enabling seamless wireless bridges between access points without requiring new network cabling.
  • Scalable Cloud Management: Integrates with Zyxel Networks’ Nebula cloud platform, offering free essential remote configuration, real-time monitoring, and centralized management. Advanced management tiers are available as business needs expand.
  • Energy Efficiency: Operates with a maximum power draw of 15W, consuming up to 38% less power than comparable triple-radio WiFi 7 access points currently on the market.
  • Flexible Power Options: Available with or without a power adapter to reduce electronic waste and lower initial deployment costs for organizations already utilizing USB-C or Power over Ethernet (PoE) infrastructure.

For environments requiring distinct user permissions, the NWA90BE MAX includes captive portal features for customized guest login pages, along with IEEE 802.1X and RADIUS support to secure and isolate employee and guest traffic.

“WiFi 7 is moving beyond high-end deployments, but smaller businesses still need to balance performance with the cost and effort of upgrading,” said Mr. Gary Chen, Emerging Markets head at Zyxel Networks.

“With the NWA50BE MAX and NWA90BE MAX, we are bringing fast tri-band connectivity to smaller businesses that need reliable WiFi but also have to watch every investment. By keeping deployment and management simple, we can help more small businesses make the move to WiFi 7 as their networks and connected devices grow.”

The NWA50BE MAX will be sold exclusively through ecommerce channels, while the NWA90BE MAX will be available through Zyxel Networks’ authorized channel partners.
