Japan’s largest yakitori chain, Torikizoku, will make its Philippine debut on October 12, 2026, opening its inaugural restaurant at Serendra in Bonifacio Global City (BGC).
The expansion marks the brand’s first venture into the local market, bringing its signature Japanese dining culture centered on freshly grilled skewers, curated ingredients, and a casual, high-energy atmosphere.
Founded in Osaka in 1985, Torikizoku has expanded to over 600 locations across Japan. The Serendra branch represents a major step in the company’s broader international growth strategy under its “Global YAKITORI Family” initiative.
To build anticipation ahead of the launch, the brand has placed interactive installations featuring its official yellow mascot, Torikki, throughout the Serendra district. The day-and-night displays feature the character in various poses blending Filipino and Japanese culture.
Visitors can scan QR codes on the installations to access the brand’s local website, receive launch updates, and secure advance reservations.
Key details of the upcoming launch include:
- Location: Serendra, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig
- Opening Date: October 12, 2026
- Core Offerings: Freshly grilled chicken skewers, Japanese sides, and local beverage pairings
- Local Campaign: “Toriki Tayo,” designed to adapt the brand’s social dining culture for Filipino gatherings
The BGC restaurant aims to replicate the traditional yakitori-ya setup, offering an accessible space focused on casual social dining, food, and conversation.
